All Of The Gear I Can’t Travel Without!
I know I’ve written in separate posts before about some of the gear I travel with but I thought I’d share all of the travel gadgets that I absolutely always have with me, no exceptions, that I would be lost without in one post and link to where you can buy all of them, too, if you’re missing any of these because they are my absolute MUST HAVES!
My Travel Backpack:
This is first and foremost. Mine is from Tortuga and I bought it in 2016, shortly after which it was discontinued but you can purchase a similar one here for a comparable price. It’s an awesome bag, with lots of pockets for my shit, and even though sometimes I wish it was a little bigger in the main compartment, let’s be real: that would just enable me to bring things that I probably wouldn’t wear.
This is the bag that I always bring as my ‘carry on‘ on the plane, with my book, journal, wallet, phone, passport, etc. It has antitheft technology in it, too, so that your credit card information doesn’t get stolen!
I have four packing squares, also from Tortuga, and they were also discontinued after I purchased them in 2016, but there are similar ones here for the same price.
I used to try to fill all my supplements in a super tiny 7-day organizer but then last winter I bought a bigger stackable one. If you take vitamins or supplements, you need this, too.
With each time I travel, I try to be more eco-friendly, and these are always coming with me from now. Bamboo doesn’t retain bacteria, so they’re great when you’re on the go from lunch to your next site!
Camera Cleaning Kit:
There are little spots on a bunch of my photos from Budapest because I didn’t have one of these with me. So: never again!
Waterproof Phone Case:
I bought this specifically for Iceland, but I found I also needed it in Israel and I’m pretty sure I’ll keep needing it in the future.
I used to borrow a girlfriend’s adapter but when I forgot to once, I bought a UK adapter and after I realized it wasn’t universal, I ordered this one on Amazon and have forever been using it.
Clear Toiletries Case:
This was also something I used to borrow from one of my girlfriend’s but then I bought my own and I don’t travel without it now. It somehow fits EVERYTHING.
Stainless Steel Straws:
In my opinion, everyone should carry these on their person at all times, and that includes travelers!
Extra Battery Bank:
I never knew these existed until I was caught with an almost-dead cell phone while meeting up with a friend in London and she pulled this out of her bag for me to use. It’s been a lifesaver more times than I can say.
Reusable Water Bottle:
Again: eco-friendly! This will save you a TON of money.
That’s about it! Am I missing anything?! Let me know in the comments and I’ll make sure I have it with me next time I travel!
