I have no idea how I haven't shown you guys photos of this jaw-dropping place in Vienna yet but I was looking over my Vienna posts and it doesn't seem to exist (at least I hope not since I'm writing about it and all right now). Vienna's National Library (aka Österreichische Nationalbibliothek) wasn't on the top of my list of things to do in Vienna but I managed to find time to walk around and it was amazing. I may or may not have accidentally walked in with a school group, but that's neither ... VIEW POST

Another Cat Cafe Review: Cafe Neko (Vienna, Austria)
The cats I'd seen at the cat cafes in Budapest were simple, not to mention adorable, but not fancy. The cats living in Cafe Neko - Vienna's premiere cat cafe - were so fancy they were almost royal (see: above photo). Their cats are rescues from local shelters and surprisingly, Cafe Neko opened all the way back in 2012! Not far from massive St. Stephen's Cathedral, Cafe Neko is a traditional Japanese cat cafe ("Neko" means "cat" in Japanese). When I walked in at the end of my first day in ... VIEW POST
My Review of The Ultimate Sound of Music Tour (Salzburg, Austria)
I know, I know. The Sound of Music tour is the #1 thing on everyone's list of "THINGS YOU MUST NOT DO IN SALZBURG FOR ANY REASON EVER," but honestly, I didn't know what else to do there. It was a beautiful town and sure, I could've gone to the castle which would've been cool, but it also would've taken an hour and then what? Yes, I could've gone to Bratislava instead altogether but how many more churches did I need to see on my trip? The night before in the bar in my hostel, I was talking to ... VIEW POST
Why the Hofburg Palace in Vienna is Worth Visiting
My first stop on my second day in Vienna was the Hofburg Palace. I'd purchased a combined ticket, the Sisi Ticket, for entrance to both the Schonbrunn and the Hofburg prior to flying overseas so I was good to go. Because it was off-season, though, the lines weren't very long so I'm not sure pre-paying saved me a lot of time, but I'd still suggest it because when you're traveling, any time saved is precious, right? The Hofburg was built in the 13th century and has been the center of government ... VIEW POST
How To Spend a Day Visiting the Oldest Zoo in the World: Tiergarten Schönbrunn (Vienna
Ever since I missed my chance to visit the Warsaw Zoo in 2016, I try to go to zoos when I'm traveling whenever possible. I love animals and although zoos are controversial (is it cruel to the animals? are they unhappy?), I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather have members of these endangered species live in manmade habitats than risk relying on mankind having a sudden change of heart to a) not hunt animals for sport and b) not destroy their environments so they can build apartment ... A Solo Traveler’s Guide on Getting To and Visiting the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna
If you thinking about visiting Vienna, the Schonbrunn Palace is an absolute must, at least if you want to get a good sense for how Marie Antoinette lived before she ruled from Versailles in France. On my last day in Vienna it was a glorious 50* F outside and I hopped on the green line at the Kettenbruckengrasse station and rode five stops south to Schonbrunn. By this time I was a pro riding the Vienna metro so I was quite proud of myself for finding my way to the Palace when it was nowhere ... VIEW POST
